Music Center at St. Petersburg College
6605 Fifth Ave. North, St. Petersburg FL 33710, Florida

It's an evening of Brazilian jazz with the legendary Antonio Adolfo and local band O Som Do Jazz. O Som Do Jazz opens, followed by Antonio solo, then with O Som Do Jazz members.

Antonio Adolfo is a man of many significant accomplishments in the world of music. Stevie Wonder, Earl Klugh, Nara Leao, Wilson Simonal, Ivete Sangalo, Leci Brandao, Emilio Santiago, Beth Carvalho, Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66, Herb Alpert and Dionne Warwick - have all performed or recorded his compositions. His compositions and production work are mainstays in Brazilian television and film. As an award-winning pianist, Antonio Adolfo is among the elite of Rio de Janeiro's jazz scene where his talent was nurtured with the Bossa Nova movement of the 1960s. As a young man, he toured with legendary Brazilian singers, including Elis Regina and Milton Nascimento.

“Adolfo has a sense of synthesis that just great educators have. I greatly admire this guy and his work." - Antonio Carlos Jobim
